How to Manifest the Perfect Website Designer for your Business

Yes, I said “manifest” and I mean that, because I think using our intuition and logic in business is essential and usually we let logic take over and things don’t always pan out in the best way, especially when we are hiring people to help us with aspects of our business.

This article is about how to use your intuition along with your logical brain to find the perfect website designer FOR YOU. Not the best one, not the one doing all the things that look good on paper, just the right one. The one you are going to vibe with, the one that is going to get you and your business and build you the website you’ve been dreaming of.

This article is NOT about selling you on the possibility that I am the website designer for you - because I might be but I also might NOT be and I used the technique below to create space for my business and the clients I want to work with so I only accept clients that I vibe with based on my own set of criteria. It’s simply to help you, no matter if we work together or not, find the designer that will be the absolute best fit for you and your business. Which I feel is an aspect greatly missing in the web design industry.

How to manifest the perfect website designer for your business

The Technique for manifesting the perfect web designer

I am going to share with you my favorite manifestation technique (that you can literally use for anything). It involves both logic and using your intuition and works for me like a dream.

Quick note, I am neurodivergent and most woo/manifestion tricks out there do not work for me - this one, that just randomly came to me one day, works for me and my brain! I don’t know if I heard it somewhere or if it just popped into my mind one day but it blends logic and intuition, (also making lists hooray!), so if you’re anything like me where you have a strong intuition but you’re also analytical AF, and often that side wins, it will work for you too.

The first thing you want to do is get clarity. If you’ve had a bad experience with a website designer in the past, use that to your advantage by setting boundaries for what you will and will not accept in a designer.

A logical side note for sexologists, sex therapists and intimacy coaches: As someone who’s worked in your industry for a decade I would most definitely include hiring a designer that understands the limitations of your industry when it comes to website design, copy and marketing. This is highly-specialized and often sensitive work that I feel requires some trauma-informed knowledge on the part of the designer. Having a designer that gets that and understands your audience will make a massive difference on what you end up with.

Step 1 - Starting your list (the non-negotiables)

Get out a piece of paper or open a Google doc. Using both your intuition and your logical needs/wants write out the following:

My website designer will…

Then list all the things you absolutely must have in a website designer either using your current wishes or past experience to inform what they will do. This part is the few things that are non-negotiable for you, we will have another section for preferences that aren’t dealbreakers.

Some examples might include:

  • Understand me and my business (preferably with knowledge of my industry)

  • Make me feel heard and seen during our consultation

  • Be responsive and reply to emails within X amount of days

  • Have an eye for design but also have a clear conversion strategy

  • Be clear and organized about what they offer and what they’re expectations are

  • Shares my values

The next section deals with boundaries, these are things you won’t accept. So, write out:

I don’t have space to work with someone who…

Again these are non-negotiable boundaries that you are setting. Some examples might include your budget, use of AI, etc., but please use both your logic, past experience and your intuition to create these for yourself.

  • Uses AI in their design (or copy, images or whatever aspect you don’t want AI involved in)

  • Doesn’t respect me or my time

  • Doesn’t set clear expectations

  • Doesn’t offer a business growth strategy

  • Charges over X amount of dollars

Step 2 - Your preferences and wishes (but not dealbreakers)

These are your preferences, they aren’t dealbreakers but they are what you prefer and will lean toward. These points will be highly personalized to you and the type of person you want to work with. Maybe they specialize in working with neurodivergent people, or LGBTQ+, or they work only with your industry.

I prefer to work with a web designer who…

  • Values X, Y and Z

  • Was referred to me by a friend

  • Is neurodivergent like me

  • Understands my industry

Step 3 - The affirming statement

Now we are going to write an affirming statement at the end that gives you full responsibility and power over who you choose to work with.

This again will be very personal to you but a good example might be:

“As the owner of (your company name), I work with people who share my values, who I can trust to offer me clarity and exceptional services. I believe in what I do and I want to work with a website designer who also believes in what I do and designs a beautiful website for me that allows my business to continue growing.”

Step 4 - How to make it happen

The key as with any manifestation technique is to really feel all of the things you wrote down. You are grounded in your preferences and non-negotiables and you know this is what you want. If one or more of the things you wrote down in your dealbreaker section doesn’t feel right or you’re not 100% sure of it then remove it from the list and add it to your preferences (or just remove it completely).

Your affirming statement should feel powerful, like you are taking charge of this and in your full power when it comes to this decision. (You should also be fully ready to hire someone, both emotionally and financially).

Now, as you may know, “the how” is not your responsibility, this part is up to the Universe and it’s important to let go after you’ve created your list. But here is where the logical side can come in a bit, especially if you are super impatient like me. Now that you know exactly what you want (which let’s be honest, that's basically all manifestation is, besides the letting go part), you can find it easier. In fact it may just come to you - through a referral or a random connection on LinkedIn or social media.

But in the meantime you can do some Google searches (or ask Chat) using your non-negotiable list. Just to poke around and see what’s out there that might fit. Don’t get frustrated if you don’t find anyone you like, if that happens try letting go and moving on to some other project. Let go as often as you possibly can and when you can’t do a little search to satisfy your mind and then let go again.

So let’s say you wanted a website designer who works with therapists only, or sexologists or specializes in trauma-informed design - you can search “Trauma-informed web designer” or “web designer that works with therapists”.

The beauty is that once you’ve made this manifestation list and you are totally clear on what you want, you will know it when you have that consultation (maybe before that). It will feel like that person just fits. And that’s your intuition letting you know “hey babe, this is it, this is the person you were looking for”. Listen to that!

As I said before, this technique will work for ANYTHING you want to manifest in your life or your business, so apply it liberally. It’s a way to get super clear on what you want and knowing what you want is empowering AF.
